Land Acknowledgment

Beechwood Cooperative Homes is located in Waterloo, and was built in 1994. We have 28, two bedroom units. Four of those are accessible. There are 46, three bedroom units and 4, four bedroom units. All are non smoking, and plus utilities.

We are close to grocery stores, and the Boardwalk Medical Centre. Both elementary and high schools are near by, we are located on a bus route. Our neighbourhood also has many walking trails, and a small pond.

Our cooperative has a community centre, and community kitchen. We have a large green space area, and a playground. There is also a coin operated, coop only laundry room on site.

Beechwood cooperative homes is a community based, friendly, and inclusive cooperative. Our members come from a diverse variety of ethnic cultures, and backgrounds. We aim to make everyone feel comfortable, respected, and included.

There are many ways our members can get involved in cooperative and community living. Whether it’s weeding some flower beds in front of the Community Centre, or coordinating and hosting social events. Some of our members volunteer to deliver notices, or help with potential membership interviews.

We are always looking for new faces to serve on the board of directors.
